What happens when I get there?

A member of staff or myself will meet you and introduce you to Fairycroft house and show you which room to go to.

 

What do I need to bring?

You will need your instrument, a pencil and eraser and Associated Board Theory In Practice workbook appropriate for your grade. We do have a number of workbooks available if you don’t have a copy.

 

Will my child cope with the standard of music?

Yes. All the music chosen for concert band and string ensemble is set at a level where all musicians are able to contribute.

 

Can I take Associated Board practical exams at

Fairycroft house?

We are currently finding out if this is possible from September 2017.

 

Do I have to be there at the beginning?

No. We fully understand the rigours of outside schedules for parents and welcome all students to come in should they be running late.

 

What do the fees cover?

The fees cover an hour of concert band or string ensemble, ½ hour of theory and ½ hour jazz course or chamber choir.

 

Do you offer individual instrumental lessons?

Yes. Individual lessons are charged extra at £16.00 per half hour tuition, payable direct to the tutor.

 

How often do I get chance to perform?

Pupils have the opportunity to perform once a term in the concert band, string ensemble, jazz/improvisation class, guitar group, chamber choir and are also encouraged to play a solo item of their choosing they have prepared with their teacher.
